| Objectives |
TRANS-TALK brought together scientists, professionals, policy-makers and stakeholders who have worked on the development of transport policy and project evaluation methodologies and/or have used these in their work, to discuss the commonalties and differences with a view of elaborating a framework for their integration. The question addressed was one of complexity in variation: how to decide which assessment method best suits which decision-making situation and how to integrate the results. A framework for integration is of major relevance for policy-analysis, hence also the decision-making processes. It contributes to the further development of the Common Transport Policy (CTP).
Three workshops were organised in the framework of TRANS-TALK. The first two took place in Brussels, in May and November 2000 respectively. The first workshop addressed the context of policy and project evaluation. The second workshop sought to produce a classification scheme comprising various indicators for classifying transport evaluation methods. |
