Acronym ETIS-LINK Title A Thematic Network for ETIS Development Co-ordinator RAND Europe, The Netherlands Client European Commission, DG Energy & Transport Contract Number GTC2/2000/33068 - SI2.335710 Duration August 2002 - July 2005 Person Responsible Liana Giorgi Project Website www.iccr-international.org/etis Objectives The European Commission in order to support the implementation of the Common transport Policy (CTP) is interested among other things in the establishment of a European Transport Information system (ETIS). ETIS will be an information system of integrated tools – decision support, modelling, presentation tools like GIS, databases and so on, to assist the policy makers at European level to analyse European transport related strategic issues. It will comprise 4 elements – a data element, an analytical modelling element, GIS and a final element interfacing users with the above elements.
ETIS-LINK is a thematic network. It will guide and steer the development of the European Transport Policy Information system and promote the ETIS concept to potential users in the European Commission and in Member States. It will help ensure the quality and usefulness of the system, smooth and swift consensus among the involved parties, and an effective up-take of the results by the Commission, Member States and other users. ETIS-LINK will support the development of the ETIS database and the terms of reference of the system interface of ETIS.
