Objectives
To develop and document a new approach for enhancing connectivity between research and policy making in the sustainable development of water ecosystems employing the concept of integrated adaptive management. The investigation of three coastal case studies and related interactive events on the European continent is intended to facilitate interplay among multi-stakeholder groups, including the scientific community, civil society and policy makers, with the aim of addressing ecological, social and economic factors affecting coastal regions. Public participation and social learning are key aspects of the project.
