Curriculum Vitae

Born in Zürich in 1952; studied Sociology and Political Sciences at the University of Vienna (Ph.D., at the University of Vienna, Habilitation for Comparative Politics at the University of Innsbruck).

Founder and Head of Research of 'The Interdisciplinary Centre for Comparative Research in the Social Sciences', since 1988 Executive Editor of the journal 'Innovation; The European Journal of Social Sciences' (published by the Routledge) and since 1994 of the book series 'Contemporary Trends in European Social Sciences' (published with Avebury, UK).

Pohoryles is a prolific writer and has written extensively on the subject of European integration issues and sociology of science.
