From 1991 to 1999 R&D Expenditure in EU-15 has stabilised between 1.5% and 2.0% of the GDP per year. The trend is to maintain this effort. Do you expect this yearly RTD expenditure rate (1.5% to 2 % per year) to be higher or lower in the next years?

From 1990 to 1995, high tech patents in EU-15 grew an average of 22 percent annually. Do you expect this trend (22,0 per cent per year) to be higher or lower in the next years?
