Ecomomic Trends

In the period 1995 to 2002 there was no clear trend regarding GDP growth in the EU-15. Between 1995 and 2000 the average GDP growth rate was between 2.4 and 3.5 per cent. Since 2002, the average GDP growth rate was at 1 per cent. Consider an average growth rate of 2.5 per cent per year. Do you expect this trend to be higher or lower in the next years?

In the new Member States the average GDP growth rate in the mid-nineties was 6 per cent. At the beginning of the 21st century it was 2.1 per cent. Consider an average growth rate in new Member States of 4 per cent. Do you expect this trend to be higher or lower in the next years?
