Sunday, June 2nd 2002

Arrival Day

Participants are encouraged to make arrangements to arrive to Vienna and subsequently travel to Semmering already on Sunday. Semmering can be reached by train from the Vienna South Train Station (accessible from the Vienna airport by either taxi or bus). There is a regular service and the trip lasts one and a half hour. Details regarding the time plan will be provided separately. A shuttle bus from the Vienna airport to Semmering will also be organised for those arriving to Vienna airport late on Sunday evening, at around 18.00 hours. A second shuttle will be available for late arrivals on Monday morning at around 11.00 hours.

Monday, June 3rd 2002

  • The Foresight for Transport Project
  • Goals and Agenda of the Expert Panel Consultations
  • Setting the Consultations into Context: Contemporary Transport Developments and Trends and the European Transport Policy towards Sustainable Mobility
16.00 to 18.00 Introductory Session for Energy and Environment
  • Initial presentation of the experiences and contributions of all the members.
  • Brief description of the next sessions.
  • Introduction to FORESIGHT for Transport , IST, trends, global vision, key points, and others

Deceide one vocal person in each group

Write a short summary up in each group.

  • Which could be the monitoring system to control the correct development?

  • What could be the implications of their implementation? (according to the experts assisting)
  • What point must be included in the future Policy?

Friday, June 7th 2002 - Joint Parallel Sessions

The objective of this final panel session is to jointly discuss the findings of the parallel sessions paying attention to the interfaces and towards cross-sectoral integration.

Report on next steps (preparation of consultation documents, organisation of Delphi survey, follow-up of consultation in 2003).

Two shuttle buses will be organised at 14.30 to bring participants back from Semmering to Vienna or Vienna airport. Alternatively participants can take the train back to Vienna.

Those wishing to stay on either in Semmering or Vienna for the weekend and wishing assistance with accommodation should inform the organisers well in advance to make arrangements.
