Objective

This half-day seminar will present the final results of the EUROPUB Project on European democracy. The EUROPUB project was supported by the Fifth Framework Programme under the Key Action ‘Improving the Socio-Economic Knowledge Base’. The research carried out by the project concentrated on three key areas:

• institutional opportunities for participation and contestation at the level of policy;

• the emergence of a European political class;

the development of a revised assessment framework for a democratic audit of the European Union.
