Workshop 3 - Alpine Transport Policy: A Regional Problem with European Consequences or a European Problem with Regional Consequences?

May 27th & 28th 2002, Lago Maggiore, Italy

This workshop examined the policy and political context surrounding trans-Alpine transport by examining the impact of the transport agreements with Switzerland and Austria and of the Alpine Convention as well as the role of European institutions and economic actors at the interface with regional interests and citizen concerns.

Workshop 4 - Pricing and Financing of Alpine Transport Infrastructure

September 12th & 13th 2002, Bern, Switzerland

This workshop explored the current role and possible development of intermodality and combined transport in the Alpine regions towards a re-balancing of the transport system and more specifically the model split and the protection of the environment.

Workshop 5 - What Role for Intermodality in Alpine Transport?

January 23rd & 24th 2003, Annecy, France

This workshop focused on the pricing and financing of transport infrastructure in the Alpine regions considering stakeholder interests and public acceptability as well as the feasibility of plans and their practical implementation.

Workshop 6 - Data, Methods and Modelling: Towards an Integration of Technical Perspectives

May 15th & 16th 2003, Ljubljana, Slovenia

This workshop focused on the issues of data, methods and modelling with a particular emphasis on the establishment of the new EU-Swiss traffic observatory and the preparation of the 2004 Cross Alpine Freight Transport Survey (CAFT).

Workshop 7 - What Future for Alpine Transport?

September 22nd & 23rd 2003, Brussels, Belgium

At the final workshop the results and policy recommendations of the ALP-NET project were presented and discussed with the more than 80 participants from all Alpine countries.
